REGULAR PRIVATE LESSON SPOT

For riders of any age—children through adults—who already possess solid horsemanship skills and a range of riding experience (from minimal to extensive), we offer regular one-hour lessons, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

For riders who are new to horsemanship skills, initial private lesson(s) will be guided to demonstrate necessary skills and build such a skillset.

All regular riders are expected to arrive 30–45 minutes before their lesson to catch, groom, and tack up their horse, and to remain afterward as long as needed to properly care for their horse and equipment. Students who do not complete these tasks to the standard required by their instructor may have lesson time redirected to address and correct these skills, or may be asked to take additional horsemanship lessons.

Please be honest about your ability to prepare for a lesson and work safely with a horse without supervision, as well as your riding experience.

Note: New riders to our barn who wish to join our Regular Riders program must first attend an Initial Evaluation Lesson so we can assess that their horsemanship skills are safe, solid, and correct.

REGULAR SEMI-PRIVATE LESSON SPOT

Available to riders at the Novice level or higher, semi-private lessons are one hour long, weekly, and shared with up to three students. Riders in a semi-private lesson do not need to be at the same riding level as their partner; however, they must be able to independently handle and prepare their horse before the lesson and must be capable of safely stopping, steering, and managing their horse in the arena so they do not pose a risk to the other rider.

Note: Riders who are new to our barn and wish to join our Regular Riders program must first complete an Initial Evaluation Lesson to ensure their horsemanship skills are safe, solid, and correct. Those interested in semi-private lessons must also demonstrate efficient, competent catching/leading, grooming, and tacking-up skills during the Initial Evaluation Lesson so there is adequate time to assess their current riding ability.

If one student in a semi-private lesson cancels, the remaining rider will receive a 30-minute private lesson unless they choose to upgrade to a full one-hour private lesson by paying the price difference. Rescheduled lessons will take place either as a one-hour semi-private lesson with another student or as a 30-minute private lesson.

Regular Rider students who hold a Permanent Lesson Spot and are at the Novice level or above may take advantage of our Semi-Private Lesson Special. This allows the rider to enroll in a second weekly lesson at a discounted rate (details below). This offer is available only to permanent students and only for securing a second permanent weekly spot for the same rider. The goal is to provide riders with more frequent practice and a stronger opportunity to progress through the levels. Like most sports, consistent practice—often multiple times per week—supports steady advancement, and we are committed to helping our students achieve their riding goals.
